I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
